So much talent.
“Stage” performed by Zora Howard.
Search for her on Youtube to see other amazing performances.
Zora is supported by an amazing organization called Urban Word NYC. Every year they hold an annual Teen Poetry Slam and provide free writing workshops for teens year round.
“Founded on the belief that teenagers can and must speak for themselves, Urban Word NYC™ (UW) has been at the forefront of the youth spoken word, poetry and hip-hop movements in New York City since 1999. Urban Word NYC believes that free self-expression —— matured in an enhanced critical literacy environment —— improves selfconfidence and strengthens educational achievement for NYC’s inner city youth. “
My God. She is so intense! I cant get enough of this video. The wardrobe is unreal and Ive been searching the internet to find out who is behind these fabulous costumes. Two of the looks, and a few of the shoes are from Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 collection. McQueen is one of my favorite designers. His highly conceptual and often bizarre designs fit Lady Gaga’s persona perfectly.

But who did the fabulous jeweled number?
Not gonna lie, designing for the Gaga is something I would have so much fun doing.
And if your curious about what this video means, here is an interesting take at www.vigilantcitizen.com.
I am completely obsessed with thigh high socks and stockings for fall. OBSESSED.

Excerpt from Ruben Toledo’s FashioNation featuring an interview with Sonia Rykiel.
Illustrators: Past and Present
Set 2: Paul Iribe and Ruben Toledo
Iribe studied in Paris in 1908.

Toledo was born in Cuban in 1961.

We just recently completed an assignment in my modeling drawing class in which we were given the names of 2 fashion illustrators, one from the past and one from the present. We had to research their artwork and choose an illustration from each artist. We then had to recreate one of our own illustrations to mirror the style of these artists.
I will spend the next few weeks displaying the artwork of these accomplished illustrators from the past and present. Its fascinating to see how illustrations have changed over the years.
Set 1: Georges Lepape and Thierry Perez
Georges studied in Paris in 1911. Thierry studied in Paris in 1987.
